Vacation Condo Redo . . .

Last week I added a few projects to my regular routine. I painted and decorated our little vacation condo bathroom (will show before and after pictures in a later post) as well as had furniture and other necessitates that make a place comfortable, moved from Idaho. Everything is something we already had due to some downsizing we have been doing so I didn't buy anything new. It was a fun challenge to take odds and ends and make them work together.

In this post I am showing the bedroom before and after. I wish I had the before pictures of this room when we bought it. There was no window covering and the big wall was painted an orange and tan with a sponge technique. I painted it the color of the rest of the room trying to create a serene atmosphere. I like all the neutrals with the black wood furniture. Before last week, we just had a box springs and mattress to sleep on and really no other furniture and nothing on the walls; well no decor at all. Now the room is relaxing with a sort of a resort look and feel.

Here is before the final decorating but after painting over the orange and tan wall and putting up window treatments. Just a blank ordinary space. I love that a large tree is just outside the window giving the room an earthy feel.

After decorating with a black wood bedroom set, accent chair in black and neutral colors, the neutral chest in the window to act as a window seat (the perfect place to store my handbags) and thrifted art for the walls, I am pleased with the outcome. We also added a light to the ceiling fan, something we use a lot in this warm climate. The little surprise in the room is the floor lamp with the red shade that brings out the red in the art on the wall. Another fun element is the suede black accent pillows on the bed and the sparkly sequined black pillow on the accent chair. There is a wonderful walk in closet but I forgot to take a picture of it.

Stay tuned for a post showing the bathroom redo. It was in pretty bad shape and I had so much fun transforming it!

Thanks for stopping by!

Peace!
