Getting Ready to Get Down

My favorite song "Getting Ready to Get Down" is by an Idaho boy about a Missouri girl. I am from Missouri married to an Idaho guy and this song is really a humorous story of my life. Its by Josh Ritter. See/listen to it here if you want to smile.

Tomorrow (Saturday evening) we are going to have a barbecue at our house. We're expecting close to 30 people. The weather is going to be perfect and we are having a great time getting ready. We'll do the traditional foods, burgers, dogs, baked beans, potato salad, etc. and I am making a chocolate zucchini cake and a preachers cake for dessert. I am setting up tables and chairs with old quilts for table clothes and bouquets of daisies for center pieces. We'll have music, drinks and a good time.

So, since today is a big prep day and I wanted to enjoy the process, I dressed to feel good. I've said before, clothes make me smile. They are a form of art that I can participate in with gusto! I am wearing a sleeveless tank dress and since I look like I am wearing a tent in these A line dresses, I added a white sweatshirt around my waist. I put on old converse tennis shoes and carried a fun canvas bag for when I run into town to do last minute shopping. I am soooo, Getting Ready to Get Down!

Thanks for stopping by!

Peace!
