the scoop

Tonight is the night we host our Christmas party. We are expecting between 30 to 40 guests. Drinks and food will be served and a local pianist is coming to play our piano filling the air with festive music.

my outift

I was thinking about what to wear as host of a casual holiday party. I like to keep it simple since I am very busy running around keeping everyone comfortable and entertained. When I am undecided I always reach for basics and nothing is easier to put together than jeans and a button down shirt. For this outfit I decided on black jeans and a white button down. To add a little wow, I wore a cozy Fair Isle sweater. For this shoot I wore my burgundy thigh high boots.

While I had on my boots I wanted to get some shots of them with a coat I have had for a few years and knew I wanted to pair with these boots when I bought them. It is the cutest coat and looks perfect with the boots. I was able to get out and take a few outdoor shots but it was a little gloomy so they are not the best.
