Got That 70s Thing Going On
the scoop
This look started out with this handbag I won on a blog giveaway. I can't remember winning much of anything so it was a cool surprise when I was told I had won this fabulous bag. I had always had my eyes on a few GiGi New York bags but had never taken the plunge. But now that I have one and see the quality I will be investing in more. This exact bag comes in a green that I am obsessed with. This bag is also the perfect size for me for an everyday bag because I am not one that carries around a lot of things when just doing errands and going out to eat.
The jeans were chosen on this day because they are truly the most comfortable jeans I own. The have stretch and are higher waisted so no pulling them up every five minutes like a lot of my lower waisted jeans. Another reason I picked these jeans for this look is they are a dark wash which I love because they feel a little dressier. Lastly I wore them because I am obsessed with this style. It reminds me of the second decade of my life when bell bottoms were the thing. Although back then I wore bell bottom hip hugger jeans! Remember those? Ha so fun!
This 70s look would not be complete with out platform shoes. I remember before school started, the year I would enter 7th grade and my mom took me shopping for school clothes and I bought my first ever pair of platform shoes. I mean I was rockin" it. The coolest styles ever. I got the shoes in this outfit last summer and love them. They seem high but with the platforms they are so comfortable.
The last piece to this look is an old top I got at the thrift shop last winter here in Arizona. It is really almost too small and it has a missing button but it is so cute with the embroidered flowers that I wear it all the time. I love that if I raise my arms the sleeves are too short so I leave them unbuttoned and I love that somewhere, I can't remember where a button is missing. It's just so carefree as life was for me in the 70s.
my outfit
This look is made up of a vintage Chico's shirt, Express high waisted dark wash flared jeans, Ted Baker Platform shoes and a GiGi New York Satchel. I got the jeans last year and loved them so much I got several pair just before they sold out. I didn't think they would come back in but I just checked and they are back! I sized down in these due to the nice stretch. I usually wear a 4 in jeans but I get these in 2. Also they are long, I get the regular length and still wear 3 to 4 inch heels. You can get them in short and tall lengths. I highly recommend them!
As always thanks for stopping by!
Peace!
