Everyday is mother's day. We don't need a special day to remember all we do as parents, step parents, pet parents, parent parents and the list goes on. We all nurture and care for others all the time or at some point in time. We make the world go round and should never have to remind others to honor us.
Meanwhile, since the world insists that we have a mother's day I plan to make it special! (Cheryl style!) Which means usually a project. Ha ha. On Saturday we had a big garage sale which was such an event I could write a whole post on that alone. But the main thing is that I sold all my old deck furniture so I can get newer more modern and colorful decor.
So on Mother's Day we will be combing the stores for just the right things. I have a perfect rug and iron chandelier and a nice stainless grill but that is all. I want a conversation seating set, a smaller intimate dining table and chairs and maybe lounge chairs. I want bright colorful cushions. We have a pergola and I got really large sun sails to hang for more shade and so I will want a little accent type decor too. This to me is fun! I want a space where I can work on my blog, entertain, and really use. We have so much company coming this summer that a nice space outside will get lots of use.
my look
A couple of weeks ago I ordered six dresses to try out. I have a hard time finding dresses that fit well but wanted to add a couple to my closet for spring. True to form four of the five I have tried so far wouldn't work. This is the only one I liked and I just love it. Partly because of the sunny yellow colors but partly the casual style. I can wear flat sandals with this dress for an even more casual look. I wore wedges and carried my wicker clutch and wore turquoise tassel earrings to complete my outfit.
weather update
We are still having some pretty chilly days but the day I took these pictures it was gorgeous. Only about 60 degrees but the sun made it feel much warmer. Our grass is as green as can be and things are starting to grow. It's time for me to plant my annual flowers in the pots and spruce the place up! One of my favorite things to do!
