Boo!
The Scoop
Hey gang! I was able to get in a couple of shoots this week so I thought I would do a post and update you on life lately. We have transitioned to our mountain home for the summer and with that came tons of work getting the house opened and ready for us, our fur babies and all the visitors we have in the summer. We still have a tree down in the front that fell over the winter and lots of other home care things to do but we are up and running.
It is getting hot down in the city reaching about 90 now so it is good to be where it is cool with the nights in the 50s and days in the 70s. We are seeing lots of deer and other creatures including a bear ( see pictures below) that walked right up to our front door before meandering on his way. The dogs are finding all sorts of stinky things to roll in and life in the summer is on!
My Look
I was looking for inspiration online recently and saw a picture of a lady wearing the new straight leg style jeans (i.e. mom jeans), an over sized black button down shirt and black heel. I loved the simplicity of the look so went to my closet to see if I could replicate.
I only have some of my clothes here, most I left in the city house but I did have a navy blue button down, my latest jeans acquisition of over sized, high waist, straight and cropped legs (mom jeans). That’s a mouthful. I realize now they are too big but I think I will try to shrink them some. But I can say they are comfy. I had these cute navy wedge sandals and my thrifted straw bag. Please forgive my hair. I thought I could get one more day out of it but not really! Ha!
Flowers
I just filled our flower pots with Marigolds again this year. They keep the bugs away and bloom until frost so I like the low maintenance. We have lilacs, peony’s, lilies and so many wild flowers growing in and around the place that I don’t feel the need to plant much more. We have strawberries, gooseberries and rhubarb if we can beat the bears to them.
Accessories
I’m wearing over sized sunglasses that remind me of the sunglasses I wore in my teens and twenties that were so popular. The 70s and 80s era! My necklace is a couple of years old, bought at a local boutique called Mountain Monkey Business. It is such a fun clothing shop and local here in the mountains. My bracelet is old and adds some color and whimsy.
Bear Visitors
The other evening I was walking through the house and I saw a bear walking right under the windows toward our front door. By the time I got my phone to take a picture he was on his way, nothing to see here I guess! It’s always amazing to see the wildlife here and we have seen a lot!
