Happy 2021!

The Scoop

Happy New Year gang! Wow what a year, that 2020? I feel like I’ve been put through the wringer. But as promised, I am back to my blog.

We have officially been in our Arizona house for one month today and I can say we are all moved in and fairly settled. Not one box left to empty except for a few that contain our very old books, all classics that are tattered and torn but always make me feel at home when I see them. We’ve got to get book shelves of some kind so for now I am bookless.

Although I am going a little stir crazy not being able to visit with people unless they are across the street I am enjoying the sunny Arizona weather. I walk, run or hike every day. It is my therapy.

About The House

This is clearly not a fashion post. In this post you are seeing me in my normal, very casual, hair a mess, no make up look. I still love fashion so I will share more in future posts.

We have been staying in a tiny condo here in Arizona for a few weeks every winter for years. This year we decided we wanted to stay longer in the winter. We have kids and grandkids that live here and want to spend more time with them. Sadly, with coved 19 this year we have only gotten to visit from a distance or on zoom or facetime. But I am always planning for the future and soon we will be sharing dinners and time together. Anyway we decided to move to a house with more room. We found the cutest place quickly and made the move and are so happy to be settled. Late spring or early summer we will head back to our home in the mountains but for now we are safe and comfortable.

The house is one level, a first for us and has an open concept that is perfect for our lifestyle here. We have a no-maintenance yard in the front and a low maintenance yard in the back. My dogs are in heaven going on walks in our quiet neighborhood and they get to run all over in the back yard.

We have a room for an office and one for a gym and still one more for a guest room. I am using all my old furnishings from our last house and its been fun to make it all work. It is comforting to have all my old things around me. We donated a lot of things that we didn’t need and I still have more to give away. I am only keeping what we use.

For this house it is about comfort for us. We don’t want to spend a lot of time working so function is the key.

This is my kitchen table where we eat or have coffee.

This is my favorite space, the middle of the kitchen. It’s big and open and so efficient.

Our master bedroom is large enough for a full seating area. I love being able to relax and read in this space. I am not happy with the TV placement but it was all wired to be hooked up there so it may be a while before we move it.

I sold our old head board before we moved because I wasn’t fond of it. I am not sure if I will get a new one. I don’t mind not having one.

I will probably take down the wallpaper ( it is the removable kind) but thought since it was there I would live with it for a while. At first I kind of liked it but now I am thinking not so much.

You can see the open concept clearly here. My dining room, living room and kitchen all connect. I have lots of plans for decorating but for now I want to relax and enjoy being done with moving.

My jeans are from Target last spring but I linked some similar, my top is from last winter but still in stock so I linked it too. I have it in several colors. My watch was this year’s Christmas Gift from my husband. I love my apple watch and I dropped my old one and the screen shattered. I was so bummed. Now I have the newest technology on it and use it every single day.

Thanks for stopping by!

Peace!

Cheryl
