Spring 2020 Uniform

The Scoop

I am still in Arizona and it is full on spring type weather here. So I am playing with ideas for spring fashion. This is an outfit I wore out to dinner with my husband and it felt so trendy. First thing when we walked into the restaurant, the hostess said, “I love your outfit!” That made the margarita’s taste just that much sweeter. At dinner I explained why she liked my outfit to my husband. I am pretty sure his eyes glazed over early on, but sometimes he picks up a few things. Ha ha.

Here is what I told him. “ I am very on trend, wearing the latest style of jeans called high waist, wide leg, cropped jeans, also known as mom jeans.” That might have been where I lost him. Then I told him I was wearing a body suit which is what all the bloggers and fashion experts are talking about, wearing and loving. I had to explain to him what a body suit was and he looked a little horrified. But I assured him it was very comfortable.

Lucky for my husband the waitress came to get drink orders and we moved off the topic. We were at a Mexican restaurant called Barrio Queen and it is our new favorite place to eat. It was amazing.

My Look

I will be wearing this look a lot for spring and probably summer. These jeans with the body suit can be worn over and over but made to look different just by switching out the jacket and shoes.

I’m wearing high rise, cropped, straight leg jeans from Revolve (Agolde) and a body suit from Nordstrom (Socialite). My jacket is from Macy’s (Lucky Brand) and my shoes are several years old as well as is my bag (Clare V).

The jeans will be the only pair in this brand I buy. I broke my rules by spending that amount of money on jeans but I really wanted to see if they were worth the hype. If I buy no other jeans for a couple of months I would break even. I left the tag on for quite a while, while I decided if I would keep them. I finally decided that I would because they are so comfortable and a silhouette that I do not have. I am a collector of jeans and have jeans that are 20 years old that I bought new and still wear. So to me this is a collector’s item. They are so well made and of such good material they will wear forever. They are like the old fashioned denim with very little stretch after wearing them a while and they are heavier than today’s jeans. I admit I have never really felt like the jeans of the past 15 years were really jeans.

I probably only have ten things in my closet that are expensive (for me) and they have all have stood the test of time. That is the key for me when deciding on an item. How many wears will I get out of it?

Create Your Own Look

I’m linking exact jeans, exact jacket and same brand clutch only newer version. A leopard clutch is one off those things that never goes out of style. My top is out of stock but I am linking similar options.
