Jumping Back In

The Scoop

Hey gang! I hope all is as well (as can be expected in these unexpected times) with you. I’m grateful that the snow has melted here in the mountains and we are venturing out to do yard work. I have found that nothing helps a broken heart like hard work. So I have been working myself to exhaustion. No time for dressing up or even doing my hair, just sweats, tears and heavy lifting. I have been mowing, raking, planting flowers, cleaning up winter’s mess and feeling a little less sad each day. But I still have days when the hole in my heart seems too big. They say it takes time.

Meanwhile

We shifted to our house in the mountains. We are getting it ready to sell this summer so we expect this to be our last summer in our mountain home. Fingers crossed we sell it, things are strange right now. We have been here since 2003 so a lot of memories have been made. And now it’s time to move on. We have fun plans for our future and I am excited to share the journey with you.

First however we had to get moved in for the summer and start getting the house ready for the market. This is a large beautiful home, perfect for a big robust family and their friends. It about a mile from a big ski hill and another mile the other direction from a beautiful natural lake. There is always things to do. The house is on 20 acres but we are only selling ten with plans to maybe build something smaller on the other ten some day. We are it selling completely furnished so it is turnkey ready. This house is located in a small resort town but has everything you need nearby. Nice grocery stores and shops and deliveries are never a problem. Amazing restaurants are always serving fancy meals to old fashioned burgers. I know the right family will make lots of their own memories in this house.

My Look

I finally put on something that didn’t stretch! Ha ha. I was nervous at first because sometimes I don’t want to move on but life is all about resilience. I got this jumpsuit back in February for Valentine’s Day. I wore it once before all the difficult things came down on me. And oh my gosh is felt so good once I got it on. Soft and comfortable. I love the sweet soft pink color too. I wore old mules and carried a tote. I wore a visor I bought a while back to add a spring vibe. Of course I had no place to go but kicking off the shoes made this a perfect sitting on the deck outfit.

The Fireplace

One of the most distinctive things about this house is the fireplace in the great room. It was hand designed by a local artist. They carved in the horses on all four sides and then came repeatedly to spray the surface for this gorgeous patina. It is one of a kind and very large so the fires are spectacular.

Stay tuned for the continuing saga of selling our mountain home.

Thanks for stopping by!

Peace!
