Crochet Me Back In Time

The Scoop

Here we go with our theme week featuring Free People pieces! Today I am highlighting this great crocheted cardigan. Man it just takes me back to the late 60s and 70s. I am sure I had this exact sweater! Ha ha. Here in the mountains it is always cold it seems. If you sit in the sun though it can feel very warm so I always have a cardigan near by and like to wear a short sleeved top in case I get too warm. The crocheted cardigan gives me the perfect coverage for the cool mountain breezes.

My Look

I’m wearing flared white jeans from The Gap, they are old, a pair of mules that are old and well loved and a white tank from Express. I love this tank and found it on sale and bought it in multiples since it is a basic for me. I accessorized with a thin leopard print belt and my favorite statement necklace which if you have followed me very long you know it is at least 25 years old and one of a kind bought in a little jewelry shop. It is by far my favorite necklace I have ever owned. I wore large hoop earrings which is my favorite style of earring and reminiscent of the 60s and 70s.

My Hair

We are in phase four of opening here in Idaho and we are one of the many states whose covid 19 cases jumped up more than 25%. For this reason I am still social distancing, wearing masks and staying away from high risk environments. If I got the virus I might survive but my husband would surly get it and he is very high risk for death and I just refuse to take chances. Simple thing is I love my husband.

Long story short is I havn’t had a hair cut since last November. I do my own color and finally decided to cut some bangs to switch my look up a bit. I have done this before and I only do a small amount so I can still go with the no bangs look but now if I wear it in a pony tail or bun I have some hair to frame my face. Risky business though! ha ha!

I’m linking the hair color I have used since I was 21. I use light golden blonde in the summer and then golden blonde in the winter. These shades are just one or two shades lighter than my normal color which is what I have always heard to do if you do your own hair color. I’m also linking my nail polish and other beauty items I use and love.

My Nails

I’m still doing my own nails too. I keep them fairly short and square because I am always cleaning or doing projects and that is the most practical. I found this fabulous color that I am loving for summer. It is OPI Lacquer color Aurora Berry-allis. Its really a neutral color that goes with everything. I am even doing my pedicures!

Create Your Own Look

All my things are old but I found similar items. I was able to find my cardigan in another color. It is a soft pale green and so pretty I ordered it too. I sized down one size as Free People runs large.
