Forever Home At Last

The Scoop

If you have been following me you know about our continuing down-sizing saga. For the past several years we have been selling our larger homes and looking for the perfect forever home. We sold our home in the valley of Idaho first. It was around 6000 square feet and loved since 2000. At the time we were selling we still had our home in the mountains of Idaho bought in 2003 that was around 5000 sqare feet, used for vacations and a condo in Arizona that was about 1000 square feet used for winter trips and visits to the see the kids, grandkids, and friends.

After we sold our home in the valley we moved full time into our home in the mountains. It took a couple of years but we finally got around to deciding to sell it too. We were ready to be closer to family and a milder climate in winters. While we were working on that we sold our condo and got a small home is Arizona for winters. A place holder that was comfortable.

This summer we sold our mountain home and moved full time into our little house in Arizona knowing we weren’t quite in our forever home. We thought we would wait until spring 2022 to start looking and just rest up for a while.

But our forever home fell into our laps last week. A newly built custom home on one and half acres at the base of some of the most famous mountains in Arizona, the Superstitions. Our view is magificent and our house is just the right size (a little over 3000 square feet), private and next to all kinds of hiking trails. Everything is natural landscaping and the epitomy of desert beauty. It’s exactly what we imagined our forever home to be.

It all happened so fast. One week from the day we looked at it we closed. We will take our time moving in and once we get settled we will sell our last home. Whew, I am beyound happy and excited.

Our last move, this is where I will stay forever. The house is complete and perfect. All we will do is hire a designer to help us figure out the landscaping and give it a few design touches inside. Finally I can relax.

The following pictures are the house as staged to show. So it will look different when I move my furniture in and do a few extra things to make it ours.

So I may be hit or miss on regular blog posts. I will try to share updates on how the move goes. This has been one heck of a year for us. Stressful, sad, happy and exhilerating all together!

This Saturday is my blog’s 8th anniversary. It’s been a fun hobby and I’m looking forward to making changes with it as my life moves forward. See you soon!

The Great Room with a sliding glass wall

Looking out the back. Landscaping to do. Our property backs up to the mountains.

The Dining Room. I will have my baby grand piano in here too.

Master Bath and the closet is so grand!

Front before landscaping. I can’t wait to decorate the courtyard.

Thanks for stopping by!

Peace!
