The Scoop

I bet you think I have my holidays mixed up! But no I just thought since I haven’t been bloggin’ for a while I might spook you a little.

Happy holidays gang! I hope you are having a lovely season and all is well you with and your families. We are navigating the roads with the new virus strain, upping our defensive plans and taking care of ourselves and those we care about (which is basically everyone). We are boosted, wearing masks and social distancing for a while longer.

Meanwhile I am starting a pre-new-years fitness journey. I have been eating too many cookies and drinking too many glasses of wine for a few weeks now and I can feel the effects in my bones. I am looking forward to everything involved with taking care of myself and feeling better. I’m starting with more gentle walks in our new neighborhood, eating healthy foods and consuming sugar less.

Oh gosh I love our new home. I love our new community. We are on an acre and a half of the most beautiful desert land. The quietness and beauty fill my soul. We went from 20 acres in the mountains to 1.5 acres in the desert and the change is, well change. But it is wondrous and fulfilling. All I can do is be forever grateful.

My Look

But on to the blog! I went with my natural air dried hair today. I’m working on trying to bring out my natural waves. I also got scissor happy and cut bangs again. My stylist always gets after me for that but I won’t be seeing her anytime soon so I guess I will get away with it. I just wanted more interest around my face.

If anyone knows a fabulous stylist on the East side of Phoenix let me know. I don’t think I will be able to wait until I get back to Idaho for a cut. I have been with my stylist for amost 17 years. She has become a dear friend and I will miss her a lot.

This dress, OMG! It is so comfy and darling. I saw a YouTuber wearing it and thought she looks so chic that I had to have it. I wish I had it in other colors now. It is so basic that you can do anything with it. It has an almost empire waist that is flattering for everyone. I was feeling a little wacky and added a belt bag in camouflage and my old plaid pumps. Gosh you guys, how many years have I been showing these fun heels now? I remember I got them at a consignment store. They are not high end but so darn cute! I wore a gold chain necklace, gold hoop earrings and a silver ring for jewelry to complete this look.

Where Am I

Our new house is not totally set up yet but it is mostly so and very comfy. I went with keeping my furniture and seeing how I could make it work. And you know I am loving it. We have blinds ordered for some rooms and other windows we will not cover. We have the privacy and the views just should not be obstructed.

Our floor plan is open and here I am in my the kitchen area. It has the best light that I can find so far. The whole house though is filled with light most of the day. I took pictures outside on our property which I will share later this week.

I have shared often that I am not a photographer and that I don’t even edit pictures outside of cropping. The cabinets are a walnut which does not show true color in these pictures. My island is white and I love the contrast. Walnut was my number one choice in cabinets and I’m so glad we got them. You will see a lot of things here from my past homes; they are just used in new ways which is so fun.

Everything I’m wearing is older. I found the dress (Old Navy) but the black is out of stock right now. It might come back but I found it in other pretty colors. I ordered the plum one. I am wearing a small tall. I like the longer length on me. I ordered extra small tall in the plum, I think I could size down easily. I would normally wear a regular length. I am 5 ft 5 inches for reference. I am linkinng similar belt bags. Mine is Lulumon in camo. Linking fun plaid pumps (mine are very old from a consignment shop).

Thanks for stopping by!

Peace!
