Happy New Year 2022
The Scoop
Happy New Year everyone! I hope you are excited for a new year and have good things planned. I shared my resolutions with you in a post last week (see here) and today is the big start day for me. Wish me luck!
For this post I thought I would share the top ten most popular posts for 2021. It was no suprise to me that three out of the ten top posts were my monthly posts related to health and fitness. I think we are all looking to feel better and sharing how we do it can be helpful. I know I love to read about what others’ find works for them.
The number one post for 2021 was:
Move It or Lose It January (see here). This post shared how I was coming along with my plans for losing weight and feeling better. At this point I had lost a sensible eight pounds and was very happy with my progress. It motived me to continue on this journey. I am rereading this post myself to pump myself up for 2022!
The second most read post of 2021 was:
Classic Chic Style (see here). This look is one of my very favorites of the whole year and I think a lot of readers liked it too. It is just a simple look that goes a long way in style.
The third most read post for 2021 was:
Move It or Lose It February (see here). I am revisiting this post also to see how I was coming along after a couple of months focusing on being more healthy. Through the months of January and February I lost a total of 12 pounds. In January I placed a lot of focus on what I ate, counting calories. In February I added in exercise. It was a fun couple of months but lots of motivation and will power was needed.
The fourth most read post for 2021 was:
The Weight of Pain (see here.) In this post I shared a story about my relationship with my late mother. It is still painful to read it even now. I got so many messages from readers who said they had very similar expereinces. I am proud I opened up in this post but mostly just want to forget it now.
The fifth most read post of 2021 was:
Seek and Find Five Pounds (see here). This post was fun for me and I’m glad others enjoyed it. I started the year off so well with my fitness but late summer when we sold our mountain home the stress got the better of me and I put my health on the back burner. By the time October rolled around I had gained five pounds and I have been coasting there since as we finished with all our moving. I am really excited to get back to a routine and taking care of myself again. Five pounds is a whole size up. So its time to regain control and enjoy the challenge of making good decisions.
The sixth most read post of 2021 was:
Rockin’ Denim After 50 (see here). Now this kind of suprised me since it was first posted in 2018 and then I updated it last January. I would say though it is one of my all time favorite posts. I love jeans and you know that I wear them daily if you follow me much. This was a fun post to make and a fun post to revisit. In the post I share many styles of jeans and ways I wear them. It’s proof you are never to old to rock them jeans! ha ha! I plan to update this post for Rockin” Denim After 60 next week. Since I am 61.5 and still wearing the jeans!
The seventh most read post of 2021 was:
Happy 2021 (see here). This post was me checking in after being gone for a few months and I think readers were checking in to see where I had been. It was a happy time for me because although we still had to go back to Idaho to sell our mountain home over the summer, we were offically settling in Arizona. We were in our transitition home, a place to stay while we got our mountain home sold and looked for our forever home in Arizona.
The eighth most read post of 2021 was:
Move It or Lose It March (see here). In this post I dove deeper into beauty and things I was doing to improve my skin. This is another must reread for me. I am still doing most of these things but need a little refresher. You know how it is if you get a little off track, you forget some things that were important.
The ninth most read post for 2021 was:
Busy Day In The Mountains (see here). This was just a post about an average day at our home in the mountains. We sold this home of 17 years and I am feeling a little home sick. But you know it was time to let go. Moving on!
And finally the tenth most read post for 2021 was:
My Producer (see here). This was just a cute post about my sweet little puppy. He is like a limb to me now. Always on my lap or by my side. He has brought me so much comfort this past year. I will cherish this doggie friendship for life.
So that’s it gang. This was a lot more work than I expected but well worth it to revisit some fun times for me and to remind me partly why I blog. This little hobby blog is a picture window into my life. I love looking back at memoies. And although it is only a glimpse of my life, it is something for me to look back on and smile.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Peace and a very happy new year to you.
