Rockin' Jeans After 60

Skinny Jeans

The Scoop

One of my most read blog posts of all time was titled, “Rockin’ Denim After 50” and so I thought I would do an updated post called “Rockin’ Denim After 60” now that I am 61 years old and fast approaching my 62nd birthday this coming summer.

I have read and heard over the years that women after a certain age should give up denim and I say, POO! I will never stop wearing my jeans! I’ve worn them since I was a child, riding horses and growing up in the country and I bet I will be wearing them to the day I die.

This post will highlight some of the different styles I love currently. Although I never give up a good pair of jeans no matter the style, I do love to try new silhouettes each year.

All these pictures are from last year at the age of 60 to 61. And this is just a few of the styles I have, it was hard to choose which to show.

Skinny Jeans

I still love a good pair of skinny jeans although I almost always size up for a roomier fit. The first two pictures are how I wore skinny jeans this past year. Hands down my favorite brand for skinny jeans is Levi’s. I almost exclusively buy Levi’s in any style these days and as an added bonus they environmentally consciously made.

Oversized Fit Jeans

This past year I happily added these oversized jeans. They remind me of jeans I wore in the early 70s. I absolutely love the comfort and the style with the high waist and flowing legs. I just ordered the same pair in a dark wash. They have a vintage chic style that is so pretty.

Straight Leg Cropped Jeans

These jeans were new to me and I immediately gravitated to the silhouette. They look good with so many tops and shoes and again have that vintage chic style that I adore.

The Flare

This style of jean has true fans, like me. I wore them even when the media claimed they were out of style. In the over eight years that I have been blogging you will see me in flares over and over. They are having a hay day right now and people are showing them lots of love. The pair below are a pair I have worn for 17 years.

Boot Cut Jeans

Next up is the boot cut. These are probably the oldest style of denim and the look has staying power. They never seem to go completely out of style. The ones I am wearing below I have had for 17 years like the flares I mentioned earlier.

Boyfriend Jeans

I can’t leave out this style of jeans. They are also a style that I have worn for years and probably wear the most. They easy style that can be dressed up or down also stand the test of time.
