Denim Skirt
The Scoop
There was a time when I decided I was too old to wear denim skirts so I got rid of all of them except a midi length one. Guess what? I changed my mind when I saw this cute skirt. It was so simple, basic, the right color and length and I knew I would be wearing it a lot this summer.
The lesson I have learned over the years is never say never. I went through a period a few years ago when I decided I was too old to wear shorts too. That is a forgotten thought for now. As long as I feel good in shorts, I will wear them. I also thought my arms would need to be covered for the rest of my life and that too is just not going to happen for now.
You see there is nothing ugly or wrong about the aging body. It’s just we see so little of it that we find it sort of odd and society instills the idea that we should not be seen as we age.
My goal is to show everyone that is interested that as we age we change but we do not turn ugly. Like with so many things aging makes things sweeter and more fine. We become kinder, more compassionate, patient and yes, wiser. All these things add to our beauty and a genuine smile reflects our beauty as a whole, body and soul. So that’s my philosophy and intention, for as long as I can feel it, I will be it. And if I can do it, anyone can.
My Look
I am a wearing denim skirt (Old Navy), a tank (Rachel Zoe), wedge sandals (Marc Fisher), jacket (Revolve), gold choker (Target), earrings and bracelets (Amazon) and wicker bag (thrifted).
This the first pictures of my hair cut! I hadn’t been in a salon for real cut for over a year and a half. Last fall my stylist came to my back yard and trimmed my hair but it wasn’t a real cut so I needed this. It feels so much healthier and light now! My intention is to let is grow longer for a while but we shall see. I love new styles now and then.
