Good Things And Around The House Pictures

My partner is life.

The Scoop

This post is about fun things. For instance, this is my favorite picture of my husband. It is so him. I was next to him but I cut me out because I looked like a dork. ha-ha. But I always feel happy when I look at this picture and remember the fun evening with friends. He does not smoke cigars on the regular.

The next few pictures are little updates of the house and how we are nesting. I also finally got pictures of the javelinas that roam our property. I will explain along the way.

Early morning in the living room.

My Meditation

Most every morning I get up at 5 AM. I take the dogs out and then make a cup of coffee. I light candles and turn on the fire and tell Alexa to play classical relaxation music. And then I sit and soak it all up. The warm puppies on my lap, the hot black coffee, the lightly fragrant candle twinkling and the illusion of a warm fire along with the sound of music. This is my meditation time. I float off and think of nothing but the feelings, scents and sounds of that moment.

The piano room.

Piano Room

This is our piano room which I recently named. I ordered some fabulous drapes for the two windows in this room which are bit daring and I can’t wait for them to arrive. They are 120” long so it will be a trick to get them up but I will show you as soon as they are up.

This puzzle may take forever. But I enjoy working on it a little each day.

Jura Coffee Maker

Got Coffee?

I’ve had this coffee maker since 2011 and it still works perfectly. I basically do nothing but push a buttom to get a cup of coffee. I always jokingly tell people that if my house was on fire this is what I would grab to take with me.

My cookbooks.

I adore cooking but don’t really care about cookbooks but after a lifetime of cooking these are the ones that I keep out and use.

Firesticks Succulent

Nature

This is the most beautiful succulent. They are all around our neighborhood and I’ve asked the landscapers to put then on our property. They grow very large and are so interesting.

I finally walked upon a group of Javelina. They even had babies with them. I was not prepared so the pictures are not good but at least you can get a sense of how they look. I was probably 25 feet away and they did not seem bothered by me.

On our continuing quest to eat meatless I made this amazing pizza with mushrooms, onions, olives and roasted red peppers. Oh it was absolutely wonderful. The dough recipe was very simple too. I was going for a thin crust and it was perfect!

I keep this towel hanging in my kitchen to remind me that these are the good old days. I am so weary of this pandemic and constantly battle sadness. I have to reflect often on all the good in life and world and . . .

I have to laugh.
