And Just Like That-a month went by . . .

The Scoop

. . .four weeks and four days to be exact. It seems longer than that since I last posted. I said I would be out of pocket for a couple of weeks but as usual the things that I had to get done were more than I expected so, there you go. Ha ha!

But I am back now and I have missed checking in with everyone so much! While I was getting our house here in Idaho set up for summer I thought a lot about changing things here at Southwestern Desert Living. Maybe I should do videos, maybe more IG posts. But at the end of the day, I like how things are now and I’m just not feeling like I need to do anything differently. Old school, right?!

I get lots of emails from companies who say they could improve everything about my blog, from a better design to more readers. But I tell them no thank you because I love doing my blog, my way. And I only want readers who really want to be here. They are the best readers and blog friends a person could ever ask for.

So, there you have it. I am back and it may be hit and miss at times this summer since we will be having company at least four weeks out of the summer and maybe more.

I want to share some of the house here and how I have been setting it up but this post is all about a fun summer look! However, you can see a peek or two of the place in these pictures. It has been so fun to decorate. We have bought new things, consigned things, thrifted items and even garage sale finds to fill this house with comfortable and eclectic style.

Linking same top in my color and the white (limited size on the white). I love this top so much I am planning on getting the white. My shorts are Zara and they don’t share links but I found very similar shorts to link. Platform sandals are so easy to walk in and great if you like a heel and there are so many to choose from right now. I linked a few. My bad is getting harder to find from the disigner. My is a large but I found a size small that would also be cute. They have disigner dupes on Amazon but I am not familiar with the quality comparatively.

Another fun decorated spot. The table is garage sale, the flowers are mine and old (about 20 years old) the pottery is garage sale and the picture is thrifted. The little blue candle is Costco. A perfect arrangement for this hallway!

My Look

I’m wearing a pair of longer cut off shorts from Zara, a Free people top along with my old Ted Baker sandals and old Cult Gaia bag. Both my sandals and this bag are several years old but I use them summer after summer and they stay current.

Behind me is a new table from a local furniture store along with a flower arrangement I got about 20 years ago. The lamp is a consignment store find. The candle holder is old from Costco and the pretty little bowl is from a local thrift shop. Underneath is a copper pot I have had for 20 years also. Oh yes, and the triptych on the wall is also several years old and thrifted.

Thanks for stopping by!

Peace!
