The Scoop

This blog is a hobby for me. Like most hobbies it is a time and space for me to forget everything going on and just focus on something pleasant. Sometimes you get in a rut and your hobbie takes a back seat but it is always riding shot gun with you as you go through life.

Lately I have been lacking in imagination and ideas for ways to style my wardrobe. I was going through old blog pictures and it really energized me and got the ideas flowing some.

I got these pants last year in the early fall. The color made them a great transition piece. The light fabric and flowing cut made them perfect for the still warm days.

So I got into my closet and pulled them out along with a top I got last summer. They worked perfectly together. Some of my favorite jewelry, styling my hair differently and grabbing a straw clutch took several old things and made them feel new.

For my closet something a year old is not really old. 50% or more of my clothes are 5 to 20+ years old. I am very careful with my clothes. I hang them up the minute I take them off and wash everything with great care, usuallu air drying. That is why so many things last that long for me. Most of my clothes have a story of when, where and why I bought them.

My Look

I am wearing a pair of wide leg pants in an almost gold color that are short enough for flat sandals. My top is such a pretty floral with big puffy bell sleeves and a smocked bodice. My necklace is three pieces of Amber stacked. It is an old necklace from Mexico that I adore. My bag is a simple straw clutch.

On the day of this post going live I will be getting a hair cut. Having my hair longer has been fun but it just doesn’t work well for me. It very thick and heavy and if I put it up it gives me headaches. Plus it seem kind of boring on me. I have more fun with shorter hair cuts. Hopefully my new cut will be more sassy! Ha ha.
