Casual Around the House

The Scoop

It’s been so hot here that I am spending most of my time at home. If I need to go anywhere I, do it first thing in the morning and then hunker down inside the rest of the day. But I stay so busy I don’t mind.

My latest project was completed today. I was wanting a vintage pedestal table for my breakfast nook and the other day I found one at a thrift shop for $20.00. It was very heavy and sturdy with interesting details so I took it home to see what I could do with it.

I didn’t want to make it look new, just bring back its natural beauty. I can’t really tell what kind of wood it is; I am assuming oak. The hardware underneath is labeled and from a company in Indiana that was established in the early 1930s. It has screws in it so the earliest it could have been made was during the 1930 when screws were first used. Other than that, there is no information on it anywhere. It has pretty carvings on it and a pedestal I have never seen and can’t find on the internet. It also has brass or some kind of metal plates on the feet which I have never seen. It is well made and very cozy.

All I did was light sanding and stain touch up along with metal polish.

If anyone is a table/wood expert and can give me information I would love it!

My Look

Hanging around the house so much calls for comfortable clothes. I wore these fun baggy jeans (Target), a big colorful tee (Revolve), Birkenstocks (Nordstroms) and a cap (Target)!
