Finding My Direction
The Scoop
I have been feeling low for too darn long and in the past when times were rough I used the thinking part of my personality instead of the feeling. I still have moments when I am sad or worried but I turn to my logic and practicality to move past it. So this week, I decided to find a direction for my life, now, as I stay home and to give it my all.
I’m lucky and grateful that all my family is safe and healthy and that I have a home and everything I need to survive. But I like structure and I have been free wheeling lately. So I decided I had had enough of swinging from sitting or laying around to over exercising. Enough of eating for comfort and not thinking of tomorrow.
My direction for now is too stay fit and healthy of mind and body. I joined a program that I had success with a couple of times over the last few years and made a commitment to focus on doing the right kinds and amount of exercise, eat healthy but fun foods and think positive. I also will get back to playing dress up and experimenting with fashion. These things bring me peace and joy. This will all be behind us someday and we will all have been effected enough to learn lessons for a better tomorrow. Of this I am sure.
I look through past blog posts and they remind me how much fitness and fashion influence me. I can’t remember a time in my life that I wasn’t trying to eat healthier, routinely working out or trying new activities. When I move I feel free. And as for fashion, my style has evolved but it has always had a strong casual slant. I love to make it up as I go and take an idea and make it me. It truly is a creative outlet for me.
A few years ago I cut the legs off these jeans to make long shorts and wow it was so fun to create this look. The pictures I have taken over the last six or seven years document how much fun I have with fashion. That’s why even though I am older I can’t stop playing dress up.
Here is an example of a healthy meal that is so fun and tasty. I used a poblano pepper, an onion, a tomato and organic basil and cracked black pepper smoked chicken sausage. I cut them up tossed in the skillet for about ten minutes on medium high and added G Hughes BBQ Sauce. It has no high fructose syrup or preservatives and it is heavenly and only 10 calories for two tablespoons. I realized after I ate it that it would have been so good on rice. Am I right?
We’ve had this armoire for so many years and I always just leave it empty. I use a little metal clothing rack often to hang things I want to style but thought why am I not using my beautiful armoire? So that is what I am doing. The mirror is original. Things use to be so small. Love!
Gosh gang I have so many thing going on now that I want to share with you! I will try to keep this excitment in my new direction going and share it with you. Let me know what direction you are taking right now.
Thanks for stopping by!
Peace!
