Move It or Lose It Summer 2021
The Scoop
OMG, Im back! Well sort of. Ha ha. I feel lke I have been off the blog forever and I also feel like I have been through a very rough period in my life. We’ve all heard “aging is not for sissies” but add moving to that and you got yourself some major struggles. Not only just moving but down sizing and leaving a place that you have called home for so many years is both physically and emotionally painful.
But I’m not going to go on about it. We are moved into our Arizona home now and feeling comfortable and grateful to have it all behind us. We are close to family and it feels right. There’s nothing like hugging your grandkids on the regular!
Now, let me tell you about my health and fitness journey throughout it all. I not only fell off the wagon, I rolled down the hill and into a tree! Ha ha! I did great until July when the house sold and after that I just rode the stress train all the way to the station. I started eating poorly and too much, I didn’t work out except for the very the hard work of packing a 5000+ sq ft home with close to 20 years of stuff in it and I even went back to my glass(es) of wine several times a week.
EVERYTHING went down hill, I put on, as of today five pounds, weight I had worked so hard to take off. The weight settled in my waist which we all know is bad fat. My muscles and joints started hurting again, my flexibilty disappeared, my nerves were pulled as tight as they would go and I still feel like hell.
I wasn’t even going to start back on the blog because I felt so awful but I remembered how my blog is one of my biggest motivators. You, my readers are my biggest inspiration and so here I am.
Everything is settled enough that I am ready to lose those extra pounds, get back to my runs, walks, hikes, yoga and strength traning and I’m ready to start taking care of me. I am weary but I know that if I don’t move it, I could lose it for good. So here I am gang, a little broken and worn but ready to take on life with a positive frame of mind and I hope you will join me. As I always say this blog is my happy place and I am back in the game.
Leave a comment or shoot me and email and let me know how you are doing and how your summer went. I can’t wait to connect with you all again.
October Fitness Plans
Lose a couple of pounds. Like before I will count my calories and eat nutrient rich foods and cut out snacks.
Do some kind of fun activity each day. For me lately that has been my morning walks. After I stablize my weight again I will add back the yoga and weight lifting.
Continue my new Sunday morning ritual. I walk to the grocery store and buy the New Yorks Times and take it home and read on my patio with a cup of coffee and scented candle burning. It is such a relaxing way to start my week.
Get back to taking pictures and working on my blog. Sharing the good things in life and focusing on all that is possible.
Review my posts from earlier this year when I was feeling great and doing the things that made me feel that way. January, February, March, April May.
Below is me yesterday, 6 AM ready to continue my journey of staying fit and happy. I know that feeling good is a never ending journey and I’m grateful for the trip!
My Look
My favorite baggy jeans (old from the Gap), a fun floral knit top(old from Walmart) and flip flops (linked same) are a low key uniform for me lately. And my favorite bag this summer (linked same), also linked my exact jewelry. I took these pictures just before we left our moutain home. It’s time now to find a new place for pictures, right?
