Fire Season In Idaho

The Scoop

My blog is not about my face. I mean I will be 61 in a few weeks so my face is 61 years old. It has fabulous thinking lines (mostly known as angry 11s), distinctive laugh lines (considered by many as unwanted folds around your mouth), and I have beautiful crinkles around my eyes often called crows feet. Duh who thought that one up?

I am proud that my life has been filled with lots of thinking and considering, tons of laughter and smiles directed at almost everyone I meet. Until we accept the beauty that comes with age we will never be at peace in our hearts.

Meanwhile I don’t dwell much on my face, I like it! My blog though is all about the art of fashion and life. It is the most fun because you can use so many mediums and splatter all over the place and we love it!

Anyway back to the title of my post. Idaho has so much forest that it has fires buring most of the time spring through fall. It’s just not as populated so less human distruction, so less coverage.

The forest service is a brillant organization and most of us don’t realize their presence in the safety of lives. They are doing controlled burns near our home now to help mitgate future fires. Idaho is in a severe drought right now so fire season could be worse than normal.

With fires burning around us we are sort of choking on smoke already this year. This brought up the topic of my face because I am totally free of any product on my face today. I couldn’t even put in my contacts. My face and eyes have been itching like crazy for days from the smoke becaue I so sensitive. But that’s ok, it is for the better and it’s nice to be a little lazy and go au naturale. It is very liberating too! Ha ha.

My Look

Just because my face is naked doesn’t mean I dont need to get dressed. The star of this show are my sandals (Steve Madden). When I first got them I thought, "my they are puffy!” I adored the heel though so I put them on for a shoot. And like many things when I saw them on in pictures, I loved them. And I must say they are nice and comfy. The puffy upper and the giant chunky heel make them perfect for summer style!

I wore them with my skinny jeans (Levi’s), a ribbed tank (Rachel Zoe), leopard belt (old can’t remember), and a white denim jacket (cabi thrifted years ago). I carried a navy fringed clutch (old?). No make up meant a good day for pig tails!

My jewelry is on repeat so you know the drill. ha ha. I’ll link it all down below!
