This And That
For The Love
I love bread and I love to make it. Especially Sourdough using my own starter.
The Scoop
I thought I would share a few fun things around the house. Things I work on and things that bring my joy.
Above is about the Sourdough bread I make. It is so amazing and little bit of effort but so worth it. It truly is an art. The starter above is straight from the refrigerator. When we have enough bread made, I just pop my starter in the refrigerator. Then the day before I want to make more, I pull it out and feed it before I go to bed. The next morning, I feed it again and within four hours it has doubled and is ready to make more bread. That is when I mix the dough and go through a couple of hours of resting and stretching it. Then it goes into the refrigerator overnight. It can stay there until I am ready to bake it the next day. Sounds complicated and maybe it is a little but not really once I got the rhythm down.
Mocktail
Above is a Mocktail I created. I use equal parts Pom Juice and an Immunity shot. I shake it in a shaker full of ice. Squeeze a little fresh lime in and garnish with a slice of the lime. It is so good and so good for me too!
High Protein Breakfast
Carb Balance Tortilla (5 g Protein)
One egg (6 g Protein) and 3 T of egg whites (5 g Protein)
1/4 cup cottage cheese (6.5 g Protein)
Homemade salsa
Chipotle Yogurt ( I mix Greek Yogurt and a can of Chipotle with Adobo sauce in the blender and keep in my fridge all the time for a little spice on sandwiches, eggs, just about anything!) There are a couple of grams of protein in the Yogurt - depends on how much I use.
Total: About 25 grams of protein for 247 calories You could easily increase the portions for even more protein consumption.
Bonus? It is good!
Above it the sweetest soup taurine I have ever seen. I got it a thrift store recently. It even has it’s original ladle which is very rare since they are glass and usually get broken. Can you imagine serving clam chowder in this?
I had to share my latest blueberry scones made with my sourdough starter discard. They are amazing! My favorite is peach though.
Home Made Salsa
I use this recipe but alter depending on what I have on hand. A big jar lasts me a week.
Thanks for stopping by!
Peace!
