Time To Put Pants On

The Scoop

Today I decided I had had my fill of wearing shorts and sweats and it was time to put on real pants. I haven’t really worn jeans most of the summer for more than an hour like if I had to run an errand. And even if I ran an errand I still usually wore stretchy pants! Ha ha.

Seriously though we have had a trend change in the style of jeans this year and I have mostly missed it because, why get dressed when there is no place to go. On the blogs though when you see someone with jeans on it is usually the new straight leg or wide leg look (which I totally love too). This has been happening slowly for a while but now you hardly see anyone wearing skinny jeans anymore. But this week I saw an article on Flip Board where someone had documented some great skinny jean looks within the last two weeks and I loved them. Now they were not the tight skinny jeans of yesterday but they are still that similar silhouette. So I had to put a look together wearing skinny jeans.

My Look

Let me tell you right now that Levi’s were my go to jeans when I was much younger. Then I moved to Lucky Brand for many years and then on to 7 For All Mankind. But today hands down, my favorites are Levi’s. I am wearing basic 501 skinny jeans. I always size up a size in Levi’s, they seem to run small. I love this new style of skinny jeans because they are slightly relaxed. These are a tiny bit distressed but I have them that are not distressed and they are fun to style also. I also have them in a very light color that I am crazy over.

I am seeing the basic white button down a lot now and love love it. The style seems to be the boyfriend or over sized look and most of my button downs are more fitted but I had this shirt that buttons up part of the way and is a little over sized that I liked with the jeans. I have been looking for a short sleeved boyfriend white button down and finally found one today to order.

I wore an old pair of chunky heeled sandals that gave me the look I wanted and I carried my crocheted bag that I got at a thrift shop in the mountains a few years ago. It was in perfect shape and is very well made and I love it for summer. My sunglasses are a fun new shape for this year, they came in a two pack with one pair being black and then the tortoise colored pair. that I am wearing. they come with the cutest cases too.

My Hair

I cut some more on my hair. The ends were just so damaged so I watched a bunch of YouTube videos and was able to cut my hair myself without too much damage. I cut off about 4 inches and the ends are a little more blunt than I like but it is still long enough that the minute it is safe to go to my stylist it can be shaped up nicely.
